Kairos Vitality, Inc. is a mobile health service providing on-site screenings that make it convenient and easy for participants to be educated on areas of their health that need improvement. Our team welcomes each guest, explains the process, and puts participants at ease. As results are calculated immediately, testing takes only a few minutes.
Kairos Vitality is represented by trained individuals who are experienced in the health screening industry. Many have been exposed to the medical field for 10, 20, and even 30 years. Our team is reliable, responsible and enthusiastic. Great care is taken to keep all participants' information confidential.
Once the results are gathered, our team uses the opportunity to not only explain each of the biometric results, but to highlight how each person can improve their health going forward. This is a positive and informative time of health coaching, where results are confidentially explained and participants are encouraged to take crucial steps towards a healthier lifestyle. When critical numbers need to be addressed, the Kairos team will share the initial steps needed and encourage follow-up with their respective primary doctor.
Health fairs, for many, are a rare and convenient moment to become aware of immediate opportunities to improve health. They act as a preventative tool to acknowledge any red flags that, with this influential information, can be addressed in a timely manner with a health professional.
Please feel free to peruse the screenings we provide. We do have standard screenings available, but any combination of services can easily be arranged. We are happy to answer any questions about specific screenings. Our standard testing includes:
- Blood Pressure
- Non-fasting: Total Cholesterol(TC), HDL, Ratio
or
Fasting: Lipids(TC, HDL, LDL, Ratio, Triglycerides) - Glucose
- Height, Weight, and Waist
- (WHtR) Waist to Height Ratio
or(BMI) Body Mass Index - Health Coaching
- Aggregate Report
BLOOD WORK
Total Cholesterol/HDL/Ratio
Total Cholesterol, or TC, is an important waxy substance in the bloodstream and cells. If it is too high, it may build up in the arteries causing risk for heart disease, heart attack, or stroke. HDL, the High Density Lipoprotein (good cholesterol), aids in transporting bad cholesterol to the liver where it is broken down. The ratio is then calculated from the TC/HDL. Cholesterol readings are obtained from a simple finger stick within a few minutes. Fasting is not required.
Lipids: Total Cholesterol/HDL/Ratio/LDL/Triglycerides
Included with the calculations of TC, HDL, ratio, and glucose, this biometric screening will also calculate the LDL (bad cholesterol), and triglycerides. Having a high LDL, or Low Density Lipoprotein, can build up on the walls of the arteries. Excessive triglycerides may cause blood to become sludgy, resulting in clotting or blockages. Both can lead to heart disease. A simple finger stick is required. Fasting is highly recommend.
Glucose
Glucose is a form of sugar in the body and is used for energy. If glucose is consistently high and the insulin hormone is lacking, one may be at risk for diabetes. Diabetes affects many different bodily systems and is one of the top 10 causes of death in America. An estimated 8 million people are undiagnosed. For some, a health fair is the first time diabetes is recognized, which is a critical value to bring to an individual’s attention.
A1c
A simple finger stick with results indicating the average blood glucose level over the past 2 to 3 months. An out of range value would indicate risk of diabetes and a further follow up with a physician.
Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA)
Our team applies blood to a collection card via a simple finger stick to determine the level of prostate-specific antigen in a man's blood. A follow up with a physician will be recommended if more testing appears necessary for prostate cancer.
BODY COMPOSITION
Body Composition
A non-invasive bio-electrical impedance passes through the body to measure body fat percentage, BMI, resting metabolism, visceral fat, skeletal muscle, body age, and weight. The full body sensor runs from foot to arm and is more comprehensive and accurate than measuring at the feet or the hands only. The weak current sent through the body cannot be felt.
Body Fat Composition
A hand held analyzer sends very weak bio-electrical impedance which passes through body tissues to calculate data based on gender, height, weight, age, and electrical resistance. This is a noninvasive and extremely weak electrical current that cannot be felt.
Waist to Height Ratio (WHtR)
A more accurate method of determining a healthy body weight than BMI, WHtR is an estimated measure of the distribution of body fat and works equally well regardless of bone structure, age, or gender. Due to the negative impact it generates on vital organs, an increased WHtR can cause a great risk of developing obesity related health problems such as diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, etc.
Body Mass Index
Body Mass Index, is a calculation of height and weight. If results show that the weight is too much for the height, one can be at risk for heart attack, stroke, diabetes, respiratory problems, cancer and other diseases.
COACHING
Health Coaching
Participants will spend time with our trained health coaches for personal, confidential counseling of their biometric results. We see this as the critical time to encourage healthy lifestyle changes, looking for positives already in place, and creating initiative to move forward to make a better tomorrow.
MEN'S AND WOMEN'S HEALTH
Colon Cancer Facts
Informative displays and real life models of colon and colorectal cancer module. A member of our team will be sharing information on this serious form of cancer. A regular colonoscopy will be encouraged for the early detection of cancer. The Colon Cancer Screening Kit is a good combination for those interested.
Colon Cancer Screening Kit
A kit is distributed to each participant for an at home screening. It's as simple as throwing the test tissue into the toilet, after following the instructions. Blood in the stool can be detected immediately.
Men's Cancer Facts & Demo
Informative displays relating to testicular and prostate cancer. A silicone model allows participants to feel what an abnormal growth can feel like. Clinical exams and self-examination is emphasized.
Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA)
Our team applies blood to a collection card via a simple finger stick to determine the level of prostate-specific antigen in a man's blood. A follow up with a physician will be recommended if more testing appears necessary for prostate cancer.
Women's Cancer Facts & Demo
Informative displays relating to cancer of the breast and female reproductive organs. A hands on demonstration of 3 different types of breast tissue, with silicone breast models, allows participants to recognize what normal fibrocystic and lumps in the breast feel like. Clinical exams and breast self-examination is emphasized.
MISCELLANEOUS
Aggregate Report
Upon request, an organized aggregate report can be produced of all participant’s biometric screenings and demographic information. Although employer and human resource teams are not allowed access to an individual’s biometric results, an aggregate report aids in targeting the main health issues for the group as a whole.
Blood Pressure
Blood pressure is the force of blood against the walls of the arteries. Left untreated it can lead to heart attack, stroke, aneurysm, damage to organs, memory problems, etc. Many times it's at a health fair that it's brought to a person's attention that they may have high blood pressure. Many are symptom free, therefore, this can be a lifesaving piece of knowledge.
Bone Mass Density (BMD)
Bone mass density, is radiation free and measured by a painless ultrasound. A bare foot rests comfortably, while the calcaneus bone of the heel is measured; a bone which is very similar to the bone of the pelvis and lower spine. Results are determined within a few minutes indicating the possibility of bone loss. Prevention of osteoporosis will be provided.
Chair Massage Therapy
Massage is a wonderful way to show employee appreciation. Enjoy chair massage therapy for relief from stress and muscle tension. Rejuvenating, pampering and very therapeutic, a chair massage can be used as a great motivation.
Hand Washing & Lurking Germs
A hand washing demonstration reminds others to take care in preventing the spread of germs. The 'Bag of Germs' shows how well ones' hand washing techniques are. Other germ hot spots are highlighted.
Impairment Goggles/DUI Awareness
Informative displays of alcohol intoxication and an interactive simulation while wearing goggles to experience the effects of impairment with a blood alcohol level of approximately .08 to 1.5. This is a catchy and fun role-play, but the seriousness of the matter is stressed with emphasis on the risks of alcohol and drunk driving.
Skin Screening & Sun Damage
A Derma scan is used to check the face for skin conditions such as sun damage, dehydration, oily skin, etc. Caution to sun exposure and checking the skin for unusual changes is encouraged. Suggestions for a follow up with a dermatologist are sometimes recommended. Skin cancer is very curable, but an early diagnosis is the key.
Smoking Cessation Awareness
Information is shared on smoking-related diseases, the benefits of quitting smoking, and ways to quit smoking. Learning tools are educational displays and 'Clem's Phlegm'. Client’s specific nicotine-free programs can be presented to employees.
Smoking: Cotinine Testing
A preferred method of screening for tobacco use. A swab is placed between the cheek and gum to check for the presence of cotinine, a metabolite of nicotine.
Vision Screening
A simple and accurate vision screening. Different areas covered are far and near vision, depth perception, and color perception. This screening can determine if a visit with an optometrist is needed, although such is always advised for one’s eye health.
